I saw this at Drew’s place lat night. I thought the predictions were silly, but I thought the timelines were completely absurd. Evidently Moore’s Law stopped when this video was made.

I’m not sure if this “future” represents wishful thinking or a nightmare scenario. Although it seems effecient and seamless, it’s also even more disconnected from the authentic human experience. More emphasis on feeling and seeing, less emphasis on DOING. A bit disturbing…

Very interesting. How accurately it reflects the future is difficult to say, but it’s certainly one of many possible constructs. As for Rufuku’s comment, I would hope a rich virtual life would enrich and help expand one’s “real” life. But I can understand your concern.

I think this video is creative but a little unrealistic and really a bit unrealistic. The big players of today (Google, Wal-Mart, etc) will eventually be gone and replaced with new players we haven’t yet heard of.
It’s the way of the free market.
