Let’s Do Coffee… and Real Estate

The Chicago Tribune writes about an agent with @Properties, a Chicago area brokerage, that has launched a new coffee bar she’s opened that incorporates the broker’s branding. Home shoppers can suck down a latte and use their laptops on the free WIFI connection to browse listings in the area.
The reporter called on me to comment on the idea and I think it’s great!
Increasingly, the target is a young, coffee-drinking demographic, according to Joel Burslem, who works in marketing for a Portland, Ore., real estate company and runs a popular industry blog (www.futureofrealestatemarketing.com) that focuses on technology.

I can’t believe more companies haven’t done this, especially in the Seattle (Starbucks) area. I do know of one other company who has a little “real estate cafe” set up in their office:

Jasiu,
Great tip on Poland. Thanks so much. I have been looking really hard because I would like to open a Perogie cafe there and until your brilliant post – I have no good leads.

It’s definitely a great idea, and a more relaxed way of searching for homes.
Foxtons have been doing this in the UK for years:

A great marketing idea and interesting concept. I’ve read that banks are also opening coffee shops. Who will be next? Dentists?
