About Joel
Joel joins 1000Watt with over 10 years of experience in consumer marketing, new media, website design and Internet marketing.
His introduction to real estate came in 2005 when he joined Prudential Northwest Properties. In 2006, he founded the influential Future of Real Estate Marketing blog, which was eventually acquired by Inman News. In 2007 and 2008 he was named one of the 25 Most Influential Real Estate bloggers.
As VP of Content at Inman News, Joel created the popular InmanTV online video magazine and helped program several Real Estate Connect events.
An expert marketer and technologist, Joel has had many roles in both startup and agency environments. Over the course of his career, he helped launch one of the first online streaming video production companies (Chalk.com), ran marketing PR campaigns for Molson/Coors (while at Wilcox Group) and most recently, helped develop Vook, an interactive e-book publisher.
Joel lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Amy, daughter Charlotte and dog Maggie. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.
