I’m not sure that CB can be considered a cool brand even if they have listings on second life.

Changes in Real Estate Industry: CB dosen’t even track hits anymore? That can’t be true. Listen to it (5:49) when she says we tried to force the consumer~! Gasp.

If you want to be a cool brand, do not call yourself a cool brand. “That’s whack.”

Coldwell Banker is a great brand in many markets but what are they doing differently than any other of the leading real estate brokerages in the country? I could have replaced Ms. Chris’s Coldwell Banker nametag with a ReMax nametag, would anyone have noticed?

One of these national franchise leaders will decide to break the pattern of following the innovation of Silicon Valley and invest serious money into innovating and leading in the online real estate space. Once this happens, it will be interesting to see how things shake out.

The fact that the leading brokerages are not willing to significant portions of their billions of dollars is costing their agents money who now have to pay Silicon Valley start-ups for what their companies could easily deliver. Their is nothing wrong with Silicon Valley companies but the agents deserve more from their national brands.
