Enormo Relaunches with New Look, New Services

Enormo, the portal formerly known as Properazzi (TPFKP), relaunched today with a brand new look and bunch of new services, as well as a series of geographically specific “gateways” in over 17 countries, including enormo.co.uk and enormo.ie.
The bulk of the changes came in the design of the site and refinements to the search engine, but the site also launched a global directory of real estate agents and a suite of new tools aimed at Realtors and brokers who may be looking to take their listings overseas.
Their model is very similar to US-based search sites like Realtor.com and Trulia, though on a decidedly more global scale. A monthly fee is assessed to upgrade (or spotlight) listings for international visitors. Enormo reports that it receives over 4 million international visitors to its site every month.
ANd while there are over 7 million listings on the site currently, there doesn’t seem to be any indication of how current or accurate the listings actually are. The US listings thus far seemed to be culled largely from a pool of third party sources.
Nevertheless, having an international component to your marketing strategy is important (especially in many coastal markets), especially as foreign buyers start to eye the wreckage of the US housing market. If for no other reason however, it can be a great differentiator from your competition when dealing with sellers.
For those of you wanting to go global marketing your listings, check out propertyadguru.com, a new site geared towards helping agents and brokers make the most out of their online advertising spend.
Also, check out the Property Portal data from Global Edge (it requires a monthly subscription); which can help you sort out which portals to target, in which countries.

Enormo does have impressive global coverage. Trulia and Realtor provide more in the way of market comps, neighborhood statistics and data charts.

I just did a search in Glendale AZ where we have roughly 15 offers in on properties and not one of them showed up in my search. Weird, I still think the local MLS is the best source of up to date info.
Any ho Thanks for the post Erik

There is no shortage of companies competing for attention with similar platforms. It seems every week someone is re-skinning and relaunching a listing portal.
Some add new convenience features for buyers, but it’s not often that tools are added that directely involve the Realtors.
We’re still betting the model will change in the next 1-2 years. Realtors are starting to Realize that their best source of marketing is their listing(s). When they have one, it should be the focal point of their add-on services…and it should work hard to promote the Realtor as well as the property.
The model we offer at Utopria does just that. The MediaPod is the cental hub for inter-connectivity with audio, video, property blogs, RSS feeds, Twitter, seller and selective sponsor participation. The marketing of the MediaPod itself is the key. It’s fed through existing syndication channels so it actually ends up on all of those re-skinned listing portals.
It’s going to be an interesting 24-months.
