FoREM Blogging Break

I’ll be off to the California Association of Realtors (CAR) meeting in Industry Hills for the next few days, so blogging will be light. I’m back Friday and so, until then I’ve queued up a few of my favorite posts from the past for reprint. I think they tackle some of the pressing marketing issues [...]

FoREM Facelift

Tweaking my Wordpress install is a guilty pleasure of mine. Every once and a while I get the itch just to tear it down and build it back up again. So last night I rebuilt the FoREM template once again - largely to cope with the growing amount of pages and sidebar content I was [...]

More on Video and Real Estate

I was interviewed for the Naples Daily News recently.

Burslem and others predict that the number of online video and slide home tours will multiply dramatically over the next couple of years due to several factors, including competition for listings and increasingly affordable and easy to use software.

Dealing with FSBOs

Dow Jones’ MarketWatch recently published 6 tips for those planning on selling without a real estate agent. Aside from the basics, (staging it properly, having the proper support lined up, etc.) they gave the following advice:

More on the Use of Video in Real Estate

The Chicago Tribune did a nice summary of the use of video in selling real estate today and called me for comment. I think it came out pretty well. You can read the whole article here - Sellers shoot for YouTube hits.
Some other mentioned in the article; WellcomeMat and MLPodcast (though not by name - [...]

Redfin Issues Correction

This has been reported elsewhere, but I thought I should update any readers who may have missed it.
Thanks to some sleuthing from Kevin at 3 Oceans Real Estate Blog, Redfin released a correction to its controversial claim that Redfin agents more effective negotiator. Apparently they were off by just a hair in their calculations.
More from [...]

FoREM Cracks 1000

A little self-congratulatory note here. The Future of Real Estate Marketing just passed 1000 readers on its Feedburner subscription chicklet today. This is a pretty big personal milestone for me, so I’m pretty excited.
Thanks to everyone who stops by this blog and a big thank you to all the readers who read my feed daily. [...]

Behind the Scenes On a Video Shoot

The Wellcomemat Blog just posted a behind the scenes look at Doug Heddings‘ (of True Gotham fame) video shoot. Doug’s presentation is one of my favorite examples of how to show a property online.
Watch how they put it together.
