[...] FoREM first illuminated Bouncepad offers a text messaging service for a monthly fee (starting at $14.95/month). For the monthly fee you receive (1) text message service, (2) a series of expected add-ons, (3) a website, (4) marketing tools. You can sign up for a “free” version of bouncepad, but you do not get a customized keyword, lead information, and advanced SMS features. CellSigns offers an SMS Flyer service. They describe their service as: A potential buyer pulls up to a home for sale. Prompted by a CellSign, he or she uses a cell phone to text message the property’s ID # to 79274 (QWASI). Within seconds a text message is returned to the buyer’s phone with information about the home (including a description, number of beds and baths, and price) and contact information for the agent. The potential buyer may then request a callback from the agent, a property brochure via email, or schedule a showing. [...]

I agree on the pricing, but the competition and adoption is just starting to heat up. There are several new players like Drivebuy Technologies (http://drivebuytech.com) that are bringing the price points down :)

Bouncepad definitely seems like a great addition to the mRealty revolution. John S is right though, that price is high. But I don't think their aiming the service at individual agents, but more to large brokerages that receive a discount and have the resources to customize.

I think another great feature would be the ability to see listings in a certain mile radius. You're in a neighborhood that you like, but don't see any For Sale signs. Wouldn't it be cool to text the specific location and receive a group of listings? I'm sure that's coming soon...

Checked out the bouncepad service. Seems like a pretty good service but the cost per listing is fairly high. $19.95/listing per month x all of a REALTORS listings could get pretty expensive pretty quick. I guess it all depends on the ROI.

I like that there is competition growing in this area. Sad thing is, most RE agents are so slow to adapt to these new services, that by the time this is being used by the majority, it will be outdated. Love the term mRealty - did you guys coin that? Much better than iRealty.
