Agents Seeing Success with Online Video

She's Watching
By KingVitaman

Recently, I posited the idea that an agent could use real estate video to supplement their position in search engines (see Rethinking Real Estate Video Marketing Strategy). I also brought up the suggestion at the Digital Video panel I moderated at Connect.

Great to see then, agents already seeing real world success with this strategy. I pulled these comments from my original post; this from Nancy at NancyMarketsYou.com:

…I, too, am having phenomenal success with video marketing
(in Northern California). Within 18-48 hours, my videos are
skyrocketing to PAGE 1 of Google for nearly every keyword search term
imaginable. I sometimes “own” 5-6 of the Top 10 spots on PAGE 1! My
Realtor clients are very pleased, and I am ecstatic! I’m sold on video
marketing!

And from Fred at Nashua Video Tours:

I upload property videos to about 12 sites right now, and I can pretty much GUARANTEE that the video (usually along with a link back to the agent’s website) will be on the first page of Google in about 2 days. I just checked my town “Nashua New Hampshire real estate” on Google and I have TEN video entries in the top 50 in Google for that search term - a couple were filmed just 3 days ago. Many times I have occupied up to 3 or 4 entries in the top ten for the #1 search phrase for real estate.

Online video is no flash in the pan, a recent report from eMarketer projects that in the US alone the number of online video viewers will rise from 114 million to 183 million over the next five years.

The bottom for real estate is that video will, in the short term, at least continue be a fringe search (at least compared to searches for skateboarding dogs and Diet Coke/Mentos experiments) - but getting ahead of the curve with video marketing is something that should be on all agents’ radar screens. The crowds are coming.

    That’s definitely the sort of results our users are experiencing, and exactly why we’re as amped as we are about the possibilities that online video are opening up for agents on the web!

    Ever since Google started incorporating video into its organic results a few months ago the whole game has changed. Many of our sellers who are pushing their quality video content out and around the web are experiencing tremendous success these days, and we’re really excited about the longer-range potential this implies. It’s only the beginning, and we - along with our services - aim to fuel this movement in every regard possible.

    Anyway, great post! We are in full agreement here and look forward to hearing more and more as the progression continues to unfold. It’s inevitably going to ‘change the game’, and it’s already started from where we stand. =]

    Thanks!

    I too am having great success with getting my video out in the market place. I have a video news service that agents can place on their websites for free called “The U.S. Real Estate Report.” I update this service about 10 times a year. I also do a video web service report called the “Las Vegas Real Estate Report.” I offer free linking options to both reports for agents with blogs and websites.
    I produced a video on why agents should use this report and and the links for the report and code. You can see this 3 minute video at:

    We ran a test with video and SEO for some major markets:

    I think that you’ll be surprised at the easily replicated results. We were. In short, videos require the same SEO care and feeding that any other content requires - the more competetive the market, the more work that needs to be done.

    Great topic, Joel. One of the best things I’ve done is to interact with my clients and prospects with video marketing. It’s an instant face to face. One of my favorite stats:

    When conveying an important message, people only remember:

    10% of what they read;
    20% of what they hear;
    30% of what they see;
    50% of what they see and hear together

    Video is certainly the hottest trend on the net right know; unless something greater comes along…. The thing is, video is not really as passive as audio but I think this bothers only me.

    I’ve been using videos as well, but the results aren’t exactly the same. Very specific search terms have decent results, but the competition is too high for my specific keywords.

    I’ve had success with the search engines by using video. I’m not sure I’ll keep doing it. It takes more time and it has not increased sales.

    Have had trouble with the video quality from one site to the next. It’s not easy to get it just right.
