Facebook… Coming to a Theater Near You!
Grab your popcorn!
Have you heard the news? There is a new “Facebook Movie” hitting theaters – The Social Network is set to release into theaters on October 1st. According to Wikipedia, this movie will be similar to the book The Accidental Billionaires, the film focuses on the early years of Facebook, which was founded in 2004.
The film, possibly better known as “The Facebook Movie,” tracks the early days of the site that would grow to become, hands down, the biggest name in online social media.
“You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies,” the trailer reads.
In all seriousness – let that number sink in: 500 MILLION. Just to put that in perspective – it took 13 years for television to reach 50 million viewers! It’s taken Facebook barely 5 years to get to 500 million! The impact that Facebook has had on marketing – especially in the real estate world has been extraordinary!
I know I’m a social media nerd, but I’m really looking forward to this movie! What do you think? Will you see it? Leave me a comment below!

The broad appeal is absolutely staggering. Although I prefer Twitter over FB, the fact is that people are flocking to FB. I’ll definitely need to step up my efforts on it and perhaps look into advertising there. And well, yes, I’ll see the movie (always a fan of relevant, timely movies).

Truly a phenomenon – He does remind me of a young bill gates or is it just the hair!.
S.M. will reign supreme…My Kids will communicate in no other way – I KNOW THIS.. Why is it so hard in Australia to convince the R.E. industry ( my clients) to climb aboard this fantastic train ride.

Alex – I have been devoting more time to FB myself too. I get more web traffic from FB than Twitter – in many ways it is 2 separate audiences. I also have been using socialmention.com lately to track when people re-post my content on FB – great tool!
Mary – you ROCK! Thank you for re-posting so many of my posts!! Are you coming to Connect SF? Would love to meet you in person!!
Simon – he reminds me too of a young Bill
your clients will get there – it just takes time… you can lead the way though!!
