Interactive Floor Plans Going Mobile
Planomatic recently released PhotoPlan Mobile 1.0 Beta - the first mobile interactive floor plan presentation optimized for the iPhone in the virtual media industry. iPhone users now have the ability to interact with real estate listings’ floor plans from any point on earth with internet service.

Planomatic seems to really have hit the nail on the head. The coolest part of this product is that the consumer can interact with it.
Once you click on the floor plan, you can pick from a drop down menu and choose which room you’d like to ‘decorate.’ Once you select the room, you are given a large variety of ‘furniture’ to choose from – including colors and styles, as well as the ability adjust wall and carpet colors. I really like that a lot of thought went into the interactive part of this app. For example, you can pick different styles and colors of furniture – which really help to ‘put you in the house’ and paint the picture of what it would be like to live there.
One thing this app has going for it is the ‘fun factor.’ If I was a buyer, I could definitely see myself using this app especially for homes I was really interested in. It could help a buyer make that decision when they are wondering: “Is this the house for me?”
Kori Covrigaru, the CEO of Planomatic says, “It’s quite unique, and in my opinion (yes, I’m obviously biased) the coolest thing to hit virtual tours/iPhone in quite some time.”
To access the app – tap this link from your iPhone – Safari will recognize that it’s on the iPhone, and automatically display the PhotoPlan Mobile:
There are other great floor plan programs out there such as: United Lane or Floor Planner but none have the interactive iPhone app that Planomatic has.
According to Kory, the BlackBerry and Android apps are on their way!
What do you think of this app? Would love your opinion of it!

Katie – Planomatic has done a great job helping agents get floorplans integrated into agents marketing. Agents everywhere are trying to add this key element. There is no question that Buyers want to see photos and floorplans. By incorporating both in an interactive mobile platform Kori has made a giant leap forward for mobile real estate viewing. Well Done!

I tapped the link on my iPhone and landed on a Planomatic web page that says I need to have Flash installed. #fail

The ability to have floor plans and photos at your disposal with all of your clients is amazing. I use my mobile phone for the exact thing and it has come in useful so many times and I have had multiple clients enjoy the feature. Great article!

Katie, thank you for writing such a great post. Floor plans and real estate marketing in general have been neglected in my opinion in most US cities. There is a great lack of information that is presented to the consumer, and blogs like this are what make the difference. Some brokerages are getting it, and we are seeing this more and more in recent months. I’m glad to see it discussed here.
Chris, you speak nothing but the truth. Thanks for the praise, and thank you for making a difference in the industry. Preaching floor plans and photography is something you’re good at. Keep it up.
vipsoft, I’m not sure why you’re receiving the flash message. Very odd. We are still in beta, but this issue has not risen in the past. Perhaps you’re using a browser built in to another app? Our PhotoPlan Mobile only functions properly with the iPhone Safari browser. Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly @KoriCov.
Thanks again Katie. Keep up the good work here on FOREM.
