Now that they are out and in popular demand, I have heard (yet to actually see) this technology being used. I recently transitioned from one company to another but before I left, the company was going to give one of these to realtors that were able to recruit a certain amount of agents, etc in a month or so from other offices....a bit off topic, but from what I have heard is that they would be used in listing presentations and such. Can see how it would be a bit cool to use but think it'll take a bit to become the norm, guess we will wait and see.

Hopefully, the newer versions (if ever) would be more creative, more useful and more tactical than this one.

We have started talking to a developer in regards to creating an ipad/iphone App which can lock or unlock specialized lock boxes.
Obviously this system would also contain a lockbox code storage system for traditional lockboxes, and the optical systems that are out today.

I'm a pretty big Mac guy right now, having a Macbook and iPhone, but the first version of iPad doesn't quite have enough of what I would want in another device.

The biggest thing is that it can't run multiple apps at the same time. So I can't listen to music, write an email, and type a document. Maybe the next version will be better.

Honestly I am not sure what to do with one when I get it. I will get one because it is a must have for realtors. Currently I get by with a laptop, a netbook and my blackberry . . and maybe a camera and oh yes the GPS in my car. I hate the thought of throwing them all away. . but what good are they now that I can have an ipad. The world will adjust to life with out some of the technical capabilities we have now because the ipad is so cool.

I've heard that it is not good in sunlight. That would hurt an agents ability to use it from home to home.

Although the Apple Tablet looks cool, I've been using a Gateway Tablet PC with Go Paperless, Inc.'s Real Estate Dashboard software since '07. Since I didn't see a stylus on Apple's tablet, I don't plan on switching to it until there's universal acceptance for digital signatures for all platforms.

Bottom line, it looks cool, but I wonder if its nothing but an I-Phone on steroids!
