2008 Real Estate Trends Released
I’m honored that FOREM was included amonst Stefan Swanepoel’s must read blogs.

Swanepoel’s real estate trends report is a must read for anyone even tangentially involved in this industry. I haven’t had a chance yet to look over this year’s edition but I’m definitely looking forward to checking it out.
Especially Real Estate Trend #3 – The New Digital Currency. Looks like it hits on much of what I write about on this blog.
Like Matrix, I’m really digging this graph though.

I think it gives a great snapshot of where we stand with technology adoption over the years.

Joel, I hope you’ll give us more info as you pour through it. Love the graph. Do you have an example of MLS consolidation? Thanks!

We did a two part interview with Stefan that covers how the newsmakers of 2007 will affect the real estate industry in 2008 and beyond.

Heard Stefan Swanepoel speak at the GMAC Leadership in Las Vegas last week. Unbelievable. The best speaker of the four keynote speakers by far. Maybe the best speaker in the real estate industry. This guy really knows his stuff. If you have not heard him speak or read his report make the effort.

Ok, I’ll bite. RE: MLS consolidation – does anyone think there will be an “open source” regional/national MLS attempt? If some exist, where are they and how are they existing?

Todd, I think there’s already MLS consolidation in the form of Trulia, Zillow, Point2 and other syndication sites. Technically, isn’t Realtor.com the MLS consolidation or am I missing the boat?
Does anyone even care about MLS anymore? Maybe it’s just me, but it’s overrated. I get more calls from people looking on Trulia, Craigislist, and Yahoo real estate than Realtor.com.
