House.com to become a broker?

Andy Denton of Realty.com spots a very interesting sign by the side of the road. After making a few phone calls he gets no direct confirmation, but it’ll be very interesting to see if they do make a move into the space, what kind of model they might adopt; Redfin, ZipRealty…

Trulia Goes Live in Midwest and the South

According to the Trulia Blog, the real estate search engine has rolled out coverage into 10 more states. Good for them. Where it once was at the top of the heap in the real estate search game, it’s now starting to look more and more like it’s just trying to play catch up.

What Are Some Good Real Estate Podcasts?

HouseValues.com just launched a new series of “Daily Motivator” Podcasts for Real Estate Professionals. I may check them out, but I probably won’t subscribe. I loaded up a few real estate related podcasts into my iTunes account a few months back, but none of them have captured my attention in any great way. I’ve found [...]

Time's Running Out For Print Advertising

Realty Times is reporting from a joint survey with Classified Intelligence, that US Realtors are still buying print advertising, but most would prefer not to. A New Real Estate 2.0 Homepage

Like Sellsius, I’m addicted to my Bloglines reader. But lately I have found myself straying from its confines and paying daily visits to a couple of mega-RSS aggregation sites; Original Signals and popurls. What I really like about these sites (aside from their nice, clean designs) is that, in just a quick glance, you can [...]

How to Keep Tabs on your Search Ranking

A couple days ago, Dustin’s post on Rain City Guide caused quite a stir amongst Real Estate bloggers (myself included) who became concerned about double-posting their content on more than one blog. I had been updating my ActiveRain blog with posts from this site, which may or may not have affected my standing in Google’s [...]

Yahoo Real Estate Delivers A Better Search Experience

Yahoo launched a redesign of its Real Estate page today, incorporating a new map search interface, an IDX feed and historical market data from Zillow. The new site site also more deeply integrates Zillow’s Zestimate charts into all of their real estate classifieds.
First impressions are, this is a very nice effort. It’s a clean, simple [...]

Online Alternatives to Microsoft Office

I’m with Galen when he gives us five reasons to ditch Outlook for Google Apps. I’ve been using Gmail for a couple of years now and it has become my primary method of collecting, sorting and replying to my various email addresses. In fact, I find that I really only use my desktop email client [...]

Jump into 3D with Agent Earth

Here’s a fun site to play with over the weekend: Dustin and Greg both point us to Agent Earth. Regular readers of this blog will know I’m a big fan of Google Earth. I love the idea of a property search conducted in a 3D environment.

I like the simplicity of Agent Earth – but in [...]
